The outcome of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's (PSA) branch committee elections has been decided.

Wagga Wagga pharmacist Peter Gissing has replaced Professor Charlie Benrimoj as president of the NSW branch of the society, with Stephen Carter and Claire O'Reilly to serve as vice-presidents.

In Victoria, Mark Feldschuh has ousted John Jackson as president. Mr Jackson will now act as vice-president alongside Michelle Lynch.

Across the border in South Australia, Grant Kardachi has retained his position as branch president with Sia Hassouros and Joe Whitehouse acting as vice-presidents.

Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy chair Shane Jackson will remain president in Tasmania with Ann Todd and Luke Bereznicki elected to the two vice-president positions.

Pharmacy lecturer Lisa Nissen's patrol as president continues in Queensland. Bruce Elliot and Debbie Rigby are vice-presidents.

The recently formed ACT branch did not participate in the latest elections. Gabrielle Cooper remains president with Cathy Beckhouse and Bill Kelly vice-presidents.

Representatives to the PSA's national board were also decided. They are: Warwick Plunkett and Claire O'Reilly (NSW); John Jackson and Joe Demarte (Victoria); Grant Kardachi (SA); Shane Jackson (Tasmania); Debbie Rigby (Qld) and Gabrielle Cooper (ACT).

An election for the new national president will take place next month. The successful candidate will replace incumbent national president, Brian Grogan, who has served in the position since 2005.
