CSU Pharmacy Foundation announces new committee
A new committee has been formed to lead the Charles Sturt Pharmacy Foundation through 2008.
The committee, which includes new and existing members, consists of practicing pharmacists, graduates of Charles Sturt University (CSU) and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry.
Dick Marris, the inaugural chairman of the Charles Sturt Pharmacy Foundation, was re-appointed to the position after former chairman Peter Gissing resigned earlier this year.
Mr Marris has been involved with the Charles Sturt Pharmacy Foundation since its formation in 1997 and worked to establish the pharmacy program at CSU through involvement on the Course Advisory Committee. Previously employed as senior executive at FH Faulding/Mayne, Mr Marris is also chairman of the CSU Foundation Investment Committee.
Meagan Doyle has been appointed to the position of vice-chairman, after being involved with the committee as a student, graduate and practicing pharmacist. Ms Doyle was the first CSU pharmacy graduate to be registered with the NSW Pharmacy Board and is now a partner in the Parkes Pharmacy in regional NSW.
The Charles Sturt Pharmacy Foundation also welcomed new committee members, including Michael Flannery, Paul Mahoney, Tony Lawler and Malcolm Rosborough.
These newly elected members join head of the School of Biomedical Sciences, Associate Professor Lyn Angel, Professor of Rural Pharmacy, Patrick Ball, and Wagga Wagga pharmacist Peter Gissing.
The committee said it will work towards achieving the objectives formulated in the Charles Sturt Pharmacy Foundation strategy in 2008, focusing fundraising efforts on scholarships, research and the funding needs of the Pharmacy School at CSU.
