OTC experts to assemble at ASMI conference

The Australian Self Medication Industry is holding its annual general meeting, conference and awards dinner this November.

The AGM and conference is held at the Australian Technology Park in Eveleigh, Sydney on November 19 and ASMI has assembled an impressive array of OTC experts.

Following the general meeting, which runs from 10 am -11.15 am, the conference kicks off at 11.30 with British OTC expert, Nicholas Hall, who will talk about the global evolution of self care. Australian health economist, Paul Gross, will address the subject of building a self care alliance and Senator Jan McLucas will talk about self care and government policy.

A panel, moderated by Robyn Williams, analyses the topic 'What's to be gained from wider self care?' Panelists are Kos Sclavos, national president of the Pharmacy Guild; Kate Carnell, executive director of the Australian Food and Grocery Council, and Prof Ron Penny, National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission.

Afternoon topics include the evidence for self care, the UK approach to driving self care and an address by Contiki founder John Anderson.

An awards dinner that night will include the ASMI sales and marketing awards and the ASMI manufacturing award.
