Symbion's 07 results
Symbion Pharmacy Services has reported revenue growth of 13.1 per cent to $2,608.2 million and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) growth of 27.3 per cent to $47.0 million for the last finanical year.
Commenting on the pharmacy services result, chief executive officer Robert Cooke said, “The pleasing turnaround of the pharmacy services division continued throughout 2007. The strong revenue growth across the core pharmacy and hospitals business reflected market share gains from new customers and increased sales to existing customers. The core pharmacy sales increased 9.7 per cent on prior year and hospitals sales increased 48.3 per cent on the prior year. "
The Terry White and Chemmart brands grew strongly last year with both attracting new stores.
Mr Cooke said pharmacy choice, Symbion's new offer to independent pharmacies, now has 700 members with the extended private label range being well received with significant sales and margin growth achieved.
“With the CSO now in place for just over one year, the competition between all industry participants remains extremely high and we are confident that our strategies are on track to deliver continued improvement in this environment,” Mr Cooke said.
