An uneasy alliance

It is a war fought in column-inches, with the battle for control of the pharmacy floor most apparent in the volley of media releases hurled from the opposing trenches of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Pharmacy Guild.
But while public announcements reflect significant friction between the political ruling bodies of medicine and pharmacy as each group closes ranks to protect its own patch, anecdotal evidence suggests that relationships between the hands-on health practitioners are actually quite smooth.
