Pharmacists are being encouraged to extend their careers to provide care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as part of a Government campaign.
Warren Snowdon, minister for indigenous health, launched the Do Something Real website. This allows health care professionals working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to share their stories about the opportunities and challenges of remote health care.
“Building an appropriately trained and resourced workforce in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health is critical to achieving lasting improvement in people’s health and wellbeing,” Mr Snowdon said.
“Whether you can take up work for a short or long term, you can make a real difference in creating a healthier future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.”
