Pharmacists are preparing for another February of flooding, with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Queensland branch holding a crisis meeting this morning.
Speaking to Pharmacy News, Kos Sclavos, Guild national president, said there were concerns a number of pharmacies in the southern part of the state could be damaged by floodwaters in the coming days.
“Our big concern is for the town of Mitchell,” he said.
“The town is being evacuated and we expect flood inundation. The pharmacy is not returning calls, because it is most like to be closed. We are expecting damage to that pharmacy.
“Charleville is also expecting flood inundation and we anticipate there will be an impact to the pharmacy there by the weekend.”
