Health gets extra seat at Cabinet table

The Department of Health and Ageing will have two ministers at the Cabinet table following yesterday’s reshuffle.
Tanya Plibersek (pictured) has been brought into the Cabinet as Minister for Health and Ageing, while Mark Butler, Minister for Mental Health and Ageing has also been given a seat in Cabinet.
Pharmacy’s peak bodies - the PSA and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia - and a number of related industry groups have welcomed Ms Plibersek’s appointment.
Grant Kardachi, PSA national president, said Ms Plibersek would bring experience and commitment to the portfolio, providing a strong foundation for the challenges ahead.
