A pharmacist who suffered a suspected overdose has been deregistered after being found guilty of misappropriation and self-administration of anabolic steroids, benzodiazepines and other medicines.
The NSW Pharmacy Tribunal heard Victoria Jocelyn Wing Yung Lau, 27, had created false prescriptions and used deceptive means to obtain the medications while working at pharmacies between July 2008 and 6 June, 2010, when she was admitted by ambulance to the Emergency Department of Manning Base Hospital.
On 15 December, 2011, the tribunal ruled that Ms Lau was “not a suitable person to hold registration as a pharmacist” and deregistered her for at least 18 months, following the prosecution by the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC).
