Comments on an article in Sydney’s Sunday Telegraph show members of the public support moves to enable pharmacists to dispense the contraceptive pill without seeing a prescription.
While the AMA has hit out at the legislation put before the House of Representatives last month, as reported by Pharmacy News, which will enable pharmacists to dispense the contraceptive pill and lipid modifying agents in defined circumstances, the public has backed the profession’s ability to take on the role.
Comments posted on the Sunday Telegraph website backed medication continuance, highlighting pharmacists’ expertises in medicines and the high cost of GP visits.
