Uncertainty remains over the future of a proposed Senate inquiry into the Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement (5CPA), after today’s scheduled vote was postponed until 28 February.
A spokesperson for the Pharmacy Guild of Australia told Pharmacy News that while the postponement was a positive outcome, it hoped the inquiry would be “ditched completely”.
“It’s a positive outcome, as in it didn’t go ahead today, but it doesn’t reduce the uncertainty that this inquiry call has caused for our members and all community pharmacies,” he said.
“We would be happier if it was ditched completely, so we will be continuing to urge Senators to not proceed with an unnecessary inquiry.”
