Changes to pharmacy location rules will make it easier and less expensive to set up a new store, Kos Sclavos, Pharmacy Guild of Australia national president, says.
Speaking to Pharmacy News, Mr Sclavos said the location rules were designed to ensure that all Australians had access to PBS services, by enabling pharmacists to open new stores without needing to purchase an approval number.
His comments follow reports that, Chemist Warehouse has shelved plans for seven new stores nationwide, claiming the rule changes were restricting the company’s ability to expand.
