Chemist Warehouse appears to have missed Sigma court deadline

The Chemist Warehouse group appears to have missed a deadline to file a defence in its legal dispute with Sigma.

The Supreme Court of Victoria originally ordered the CWH group to file its defence by 30 June.

It later extended the deadline to 4pm on Friday 14 July.

However, according to the the court’s commercial registry no document had been filed by 4pm.

The dispute arose when the CWH group said it would source Sandoz products from another CSO wholesaler.

But Sigma maintains that the companies have an exclusivity agreement that means CWH group is not entitled to source products from another wholesaler.

The defendants named in the claim are Administration and Marketing Solutions Pty Ltd, Mario Verrocchi and Jack and Sam Gance.

Neither the CWH group nor Sigma were available for comment on Friday afternoon.
